Our Favourite Women-Owned Businesses in Glasgow

As a wee Scottish business, we understand the importance of celebrating cracking local entrepreneurs. And, what better time to do that than International Women’s Day – especially since women contribute a whopping £8.8 billion to the Scottish economy, yass! We asked our team to share their favourite female-owned businesses in our local communities for you to consider when you’re next splashing yir cash;

Mud Urban Flowers

A firm-favourite of our team and, let’s be honest, most of the central belt – Mud Urban Flowers’s cult following is understandable once you get a swatch of stunning flowers. Launched by Chloe Milligan in 2017 – the brand has filled a gap for modern flower delivery services this side of the border. Whether you’re treating yourself or spoiling a special someone, getting beautiful artisan flowers has never been easier.

Hidden Lane Brewery

Looking to toast this month with a woman-owned bevvy brands Hidden Lane Brewery’s Rachel Suttle is a pro when it comes to serving up top quality  refreshing beers to the people of Glasgow. Located in a wee unit, tucked away in the city’s trendy Finnieston area, Hidden Lane Brewery offers an impressive collection of original lager, tropical ale, raspberry saison and 88 shilling flavours. Cheers!

Cafe Strange Brew

When it comes to your next brunch or weekend takeaway, Laurie Mcmillan’s Cafe Strange Brew should be right at the top of your list. With its amazing decor and incredible scran, it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most popular cafes in Glasgow.

Glasgow Plant Mama

Glasgow Plant Mama’s Emma has successfully grown her passion for plants into a blooming (sorry!) cool business. With an online shop and a site in Merchant city, it’s highly recommend by our staff for all-things botanics – from plants for your house to plants masterclasses!

Julie’s Kopitiam

If there’s one thing we love, it’s street food. And, legend Julie Lin Mcleod’s restaurant Julie’s Kopitiam is no exception. With top service and epic menu items inspired by traditional Malaysian and South Asian dishes, we’re not surprised this spot is a Michelin guide restaurant (or one of our favourite places for dinner)

And we couldn’t round off the list of recommendations without a wee shout out to Kasia Neilson. Our Chief Greenkeeper and Co-Founder – Fore Play Crazy Golf wouldn’t be the best spot for a night out in Edinburgh without her. Been a while since you stepped on the green? Book a tee-time today!

See yous soon!
